IMPORTANT DATES

  • Submission deadline: August 31st, 2014

  • Camera-ready deadline for accepted papers: November 1st, 2014
  • Conference: November 20th-23rd, 2014

Registration fees:

  • Early bird (before November 1st): 80€ first author, 25€ additional authors and other participants
  • Standard (before November 15th): 100€ first author, 30€ additional authors
  • Student discount (before November 15th): 50€ first author, 20€ additional authors and other participants

If you are disadvantaged by exchange rates, lack of affiliation or other access issues please contact us for concessionary rates. It is also possible to circumvent the fee in exchange for some help during the conference.

SUBMISSION CATEGORIES

  • Performances
    We are keen to support a wide range of performance genres including dance, audio/visual, concert and club/algorave style performances. Performances should be up to 20min. Authors will also be asked to speak of how their interfaces address ‘timing’ and ‘flow’, in public conversations prior to the performance sessions (see the program).
    Submissions should include:
    –        500 word description (indicative length)
    –        URL with video and/ or audio
    –        Technical needs
    (please list the indispensable; the desirable can be added separately)
    –        Up to 200 word biography for each author
  • Interactive installations
    Authors of selected interactive installations will also be asked to expose how their interfaces address ‘timing’ and ‘flow’, in public conversations prior to the performance sessions (see the program).
    Submissions should include:
    –        700 word description (indicative length)
    –        Technical needs
    (please list the indispensable; the desirable can be added separately)
    –        URL with images, audio, video
    –        Up to 200 word biography for each author
  • Papers
    Authors of selected papers will be asked to deliver a paper, up to 6 pages, and make a 15min oral presentation.
    Submissions should include:
    –        700 word abstract (indicative length)
    –       Indicative bibliography (to give us a notion of the argument)
    –        URL with video/ audio, where applicable
    –        Up to 200 word biography for each author
  • Posters/ demonstrations
    Authors of selected poster/ demonstrations will be asked to deliver a paper, up to 4 pages, and give a short single-slide oral presentation, as well as presenting their work either using a poster, or a technology demonstration, or a hybrid.
    Submissions should include:
    –        500 word abstract (indicative length)
    –       Indicative bibliography (to give us a notion of the argument)
    –        URL with video/ audio, where applicable
    –        Technical needs, where applicable
    (please list the indispensable; the desirable can be added separately)
    –        Up to 200 word biography for each author
  • Workshops
    Each workshop should last three hours, and be designed for researchers as well as undergraduate students from IADE’s Product Design course, or simply interested persons. The participants will be charged a small fee (about 10€), most of which will be for the tutor.
    Submissions should include:
    –        500 word description (indicative length)
    –        URL with video, audio and/ or further information
    –        Technical needs, where applicable
    (please list the indispensable; the desirable can be added separately)
    –        Up to 200 word biography for each author

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT SUBMISSION

  • All works must be submitted via EasyChair:

    Submissions must be original and will be rigorously reviewed by an international and multidisciplinary scientific committee, in a process that will assess scientific relevance, originality, aesthetic and technical achievements.

  • If your proposal entails special technical needs, please consider local feasibility; we suggest that you present an alternative option as well.
  • The reviewing is single-blind; please see details for each category listed above.
  • All images and media assets must be cleared for publication by the authors.
  • At least one of the authors of each contribution must register to the conference before the first author registration deadline in order for the work to be published in the proceedings.
  • INTER-FACE’s working language is English.
  • INTER-FACE’s conference proceedings will be published online with ISBN.
